Vintage: Taylor Smith Taylor Ever Yours Boutonniere

I just wanted to share this beautiful vintage dinnerware collection: Taylor Smith Taylor Ever Yours Boutonniere. A pretty, simple little design with a blue and pink boutonierre, the set was made primarily in the 50s and 60s. It includes both “free form/Flared” and the “Versatile” shape, and what’s most noticeable about this collection is that the interior of some of the pieces is turquoise.  When it was first sold, a 98-piece set was $49.88. If only.

What’s the point of all this?

Well, a couple of years ago I found two tea sets of the Ever Yours Boutonniere in an antique shop in New Orleans. Even though I don’t drink tea, I decided to buy it. Fast forward to a couple of years later, I found a beautiful mid-century style lidded casserole dish with the same design. I was really surprised, because you don’t really get that mid-century feel to the dinnerware unless you’re looking at specific pieces. Then Saturday, while I was helping a friend clean out his storage rooms at school, I found four more tea cups (he was gracious enough to let me take them).  That evening I finally sat down and did a little research, only to find out that this collection was pretty big. And it included way more than I ever thought. And now, I’m a little (just a tiny little bit) obsessed with buying it.
